Megan Lighty of Vienna Designs the Pratt Institute Legends 2016 Award

2016 Nov 30

Megan Lighty, Vienna resident and a student at the prestigious Pratt Institute, was selected as the student designer of the Pratt Institute Legends 2016 Award.

Pratt's Department of Industrial Design works with the Division of Institutional Advancement each year on the annual Legends award design project. Adjunct Assistant Professor of Industrial Design and Pratt alumnus Alvaro Uribe (B.I.D. '10) chose Megan Lighty to design the 2016 award based on her skills and humanistic approach to design, and worked with her through every stage of the project, from concept through completion. Each Legends honoree was presented with a cast iron and alabaster Legends Award, which Lighty designed.

Founded in 1887, Pratt Institute is a global leader in higher education dedicated to preparing its 4,700 undergraduate and graduate students for successful careers in art, design, architecture, information and library science, and liberal arts and sciences.
